Lucyn Wielgos has had an exhilarating career in an industry where market dynamics and rapid technological changes have revolutionized how business gets done.
Wielgos, who now specializes in multi-million-dollar homes as a Realtor at Realty ONE Group, says the internet has provided profound advantages. Much attention has been focused on the internet’s impact on real estate marketing, and agents like Wielgos have enthusiastically adapted as consumers embrace the enormous flexibility the internet allows in property searches. “But many are only now discovering other advantages, like electronic signatures,” she says. “I lived in Sydney for two years before coming back to Orange County in 2008. A lot happened in those two years from a technical standpoint.”
Upon her return, one of the first things she did was to go online with the capability for electronic signatures, well before most of her colleagues.
“My typical client is a busy, working professional who is often unable to meet in person for deadline-sensitive document signing. Electronic signature capability has been the most significant tool I’ve implemented. It allows for incredible flexibility; I recently sold a Dana Point home to a client in Hungary while I was in Sydney, Australia! My clients love it, and some have even integrated it into their own company practices.”
Routinely performing Broker Price Options (BPOs) for lending institutions is an important avenue by which Wielgos keeps abreast of current Orange County market conditions, as they require in-depth research to determine a property list price for a quick sale. In addition to conventional sales, Wielgos is also certified for short sales and foreclosures.
Staying abreast of technology’s steady advances and the new opportunities they generate, combined with well-honed skills in marketing, contracts, and negotiating, is crucial for Wielgos and the clientele she represents. Yet equally key is her deep understanding of Orange County coastal communities, specifically Newport Coast and Corona del Mar.
“I love my work for so many reasons,” she says. “The ring of my phone can literally change my life, and I love that. I thoroughly enjoy working with people, negotiating, and helping clients meet their goals. Seeing and marketing some of the most beautiful homes in the world is a real privilege. This work allows me to enjoy so many different facets of life. Every day is different!”
Once driven by accolades and awards early in her career in the 1980s and 1990s, Wielgos now finds more satisfaction in being the personal Realtor to several individuals, their families and friends. Repeat clients and referrals are the bulk of her business today, and a powerful testimony to her work ethic.
A large part of her business is in Corona Del Mar and Newport Coast, where she is a resident homeowner, followed by all of Orange County’s beach cities, but they are by no means the only areas where she has broad knowledge and experience.
“I’m a Newport Beach native – I know the O.C.!” she says.
Because she believes very strongly that that the preservation of her beautiful native home is the responsibility of its inhabitants, Wielgos is a member volunteer of the Newport Bay Conservancy. She is also an active animal rescue sponsor and volunteer. A portion from the proceeds of every sale is donated to these causes in her client’s name
